Privacy Policy

Prefio ("Prefio," "we," "us") makes the Prefio mobile app (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

• Account: your name and email, via Apple, Google, or email sign-up.
• Profile & preferences: details you choose to add to personalize your experience, plus optional notes and a profile photo.
• Dates (optional): dates you add manually or import. With your permission we read dates from your contacts and calendar. We use only the dates you import, and we do not message your contacts or store details we don't need.
• Location (optional): if you allow it, we use your approximate location to show nearby results. You can decline and we'll use the city from your profile instead.
• Device permissions (optional): camera and photo library, used only when you choose to.
• Usage & diagnostics: basic analytics and crash reports to fix bugs and improve the app.

How we use it

• To provide and personalize the Service for you.
• To let you share with and connect to people you choose.
• To honor reminders you set up and, if you ask, add them to your device calendar.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.

Service providers

We share data with vendors who process it on our behalf, only to run Prefio: Supabase (database, auth, storage), PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (crash reporting), Foursquare and Geoapify (place and address search), Resend (email such as invitations), Expo (push notification delivery via Apple and Google push services), Netlify (website hosting), and Apple and Google (sign-in). Product search may query retail and affiliate partners (such as Amazon Associates) to show items and prices.

Affiliate links

Some product links in Prefio and on getprefio.com are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we surface for you.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't post to your contacts or social accounts. We may show sponsored or promoted products, and we'll always label them clearly. We choose them ourselves, they aren't served by outside ad networks that track you across apps.

Your choices & rights

You can edit or remove items from your profile anytime, control each device permission in your settings, and delete your account, which removes your profile and content from our systems. To request access or deletion, email hello@getprefio.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under the GDPR or CCPA); we honor them on request.

Data retention & security

We keep your information while your account is active and delete it on request or a reasonable time after deletion, except where we must retain it for legal reasons. We use industry-standard measures to protect it, though no method is 100% secure.

Children

Prefio is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
